The Graham and Ruby DeLaet Foundation announced the return of its Graham Slam charity golf event, as well as the addition of a new junior golf initiative attached to the event in the DeLaet Cup.

The Assiniboia Senior Rebels lead the championship final series 3-1 against the Mossbank Blades after winning games three and four on March 10 and 11. The Senior Rebels downed Mossbank 3-1 in game three at the Assiniboia Civic Centre on March 10.

The Weyburn Comp’s Senior Boys and Senior Girls basketball teams are hosting regional playoffs this weekend, Friday and Saturday, March 17-18, in the Eagles gym. The boys are ranked No. 1 in the province in 4A, and the girls are ranked No. 4.

The Estevan bantam A Bruins saw their season come to an end in the south final of Saskatchewan Hockey Association provincials. The Bruins lost 9-4 to the Prairie Storm in the twogame, total-point series.

Members of the Estevan Mermaids synchronized swim team travelled to Saskatoon on March 4 and 5 for the Diane Lemon Invitational meet. Figures competitions on March 4 saw individuals compete in front of four judges, executing specific figures.

For the first time since 2009, the Estevan Apex midget AA Bruins are headed to the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League’s (SSMHL) final.

The Power Dodge Estevan Bruins expect a tough, hard-fought series when they face the Yorkton Terriers in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League quarter-finals. The series opens Friday night with Game 1 at Affinity Place at 7:30 p.m.
