The first marquee event of the year at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club attracted 73 golfers on a blustery Victoria Day. The Marv Symons Memorial Tournament saw champions crowned in three separate divisions.

The Estevan Comprehensive School Elecs badminton program sent competitors in the boys’ singles and the mixed doubles divisions to the Saskatchewan High Schools Athletic Association’s provincial competition in Weyburn on Saturday.

The Estevan TS&M Peewee AA Tornadoes played four close games on the weekend, and picked up their first win of the year in one of those close games. The Tornadoes split a doubleheader against the Swift Current 57s on Saturday at Cactus Park.

Ten members of the Estevan Mermaids synchronized swim club travelled to Winnipeg for the Canadian Prairie Championships that were held from Friday to Sunday. The solos and duets took place on Friday.

Estevan Junior Coaler Rollers head coach Lorelei Lachambre believes their two teams had their best showing yet for their home tournament. The Coaler Rollers annual tournament was held at the Bienfait Memorial Arena on Saturday and Sunday.

The regional track meet for southeast athletes was held at the Weyburn Comp, where local students competed to advance to the Saskatchewan High School Athletic Association districts. The districts will be held today, May 24, at the Weyburn Comp track.

Gravelbourg now has new dugouts for its south ball diamonds due to donations from the Gravelbourg Lions Club and the Town of Gravelbourg. More upgrading is on the way.

The Estevan Gymnastics Club was well represented at the provincial championship in Saskatoon from May 12 to 14.
