Lafleche Minor Hockey had a fantastic 2016/2017 season, winning two Wood River Minor Hockey League Championships — the Southwest Saskatchewan Hockey League Championship, and the Bantam D Provincial Title.

In the first week of action, the opening day for Saskota Baseball took place on Tuesday, May 16. The Wawota Pats travelled to Estevan to take on the new Southeast Fireballs.

The Estevan TS&M Peewee AA Tornadoes dropped all three of their games at the Legasse Tournament in Regina from May 19 to 21. The Tornadoes opened the tournament with an 8-6 defeat against the Swift Current 57s.

Estevan’s Jace Carlisle opened the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour by winning a tournament, and he defeated a fellow Estevan golfer in the process.

The Estevan novice Vipers lacrosse team played a trio of league games recently. First they played a doubleheader against the Regina Rush on Saturday at Affinity Place. The two teams played to a 4-4 tie in the first game, and then won the second 7-6.
