The Estevan Strippers annual Molson Spring Bust hockey tournament is going to feature 36 teams on April 8 to 12 at Affinity Place, the Civic Auditorium and the Icon Centre. Out of the 36 teams, there are 12 Estevan clubs.

Three local broomball players played with the Odessa Bandits broomball team during the recent 2015 Juvenile National Championships in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba.

Local football player, Levi Pick recently earned the offensive’s most valuable player (MVP) award for his play with the 16U South Sask. Selects football team.

The Estevan Woodlawn Golf Club projection date to open the course is between April 15 and 17. The weather will ultimately be the biggest determining factor, but the driving range has been open since March 28.

The Southeast Legacy midget AAA Twins recently concluded tryouts and are ready to start practicing for the upcoming baseball season. Coach Blaine Kovach said there were 16 youth that participated in the tryouts.

The Man-Sask AAA novice WolfPack hockey team began the spring hockey season with a couple of exhibition games against the Regina Junior Pats on March 5 at Affinity Place.

Owen Tools were the champions in the A event at the annual Oilfield Technical Society (OTS) Bonspiel. The tournament took place from March 26 to 29. They defeated TS&M 2 6-4 and it was the first time they made it to the final of the A event.

The Alameda Aces have been crowned SHA Bantam C Provincial champs. The Aces came out on top in Game One 7-6 in Alameda Saturday March 21 st in front of a packed house.

The Weyburn Cobra Wrestling Club sent ten wrestlers to the Freshie-Bantam Provincial Championships in Prince Albert on March 28. Weyburn Wrestlers came away with five gold, three silver and one bronze medal.

The Weyburn Wildlife Federation Archery Club will be hosting an Indoor 3D Fun Shoot on April 11 starting at 9:00 a.m. The event will take place at the indoor range located in Goodwater (about a 30 minutes south of Weyburn).
