For a team that often tied its own noose last year with errors, the Southeast Legacy Twins played two extremely clean games on Saturday and came away with a split to show for it.

The Estevan Bruins Alumni will hold their fifth annual hole in one/par three golf tournament on May 25. The tournament will take place at the TS&M Woodlawn Golf Club.

And then there were three. Estevan Bruins president Jeff Pierson confirmed Friday that the team's executive is down to three people on their short list in the search for the team's next head coach and general manager.

The Weyburn Travelodge will host the 12th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on June 9, with proceeds going towards the purchase of new equipment for the Therapies Department (NuStep, Parallel Bars, and Laser Machine) of the Weyburn General Hospital.

Weyburn's own Brett Jones is now property of the Calgary Stampeders. Jones was picked seventh in the second round and 16th overall in the Canadian Football League (CFL) draft held May 6. He went into the draft ranked eighth overall.

Although they lost quite a few core players from last year's provincial championship team, the Estevan Sherritt Coal Haulers believe they can make another run at a title in 2013.

The annual Coal Country Run was staged in Bienfait on Saturday, with the 141 participants enjoying great weather for the event. The 10-kilometre division saw 62 people register, while 54 ran the five-kilometre race.

Weyburn's Brett Jones is now a Calgary Stampeder. Jones went in the second round, 16th overall, in the CFL draft on Monday. The offensive lineman played four years with the University of Regina Rams.
