Sr. Beavers win one, take two losses on the road

The Weyburn Beavers started their 2012 baseball season with games against Melville and Regina, both played on the road. "From the looks of the team, I think we have a pretty good team," said Angelo Nicolosi, the Beavers head coach.

Canadian PGA Tour member and Weyburn native, Graham DeLaet, will be in Saskatoon on Tuesday, June 5 to help launch the 2012 Golf Day in Saskatchewan. DeLaet is currently 93rd on the PGA Tour Money List.

The under-10 Mini Red Devils girls soccer team was in Swift Current last weekend to participate in the Southwest Soccerfest tournament. The girls first faced Swift Current White and won 3-0. They then faced the Moose Jaw Storm winning 5-0.

Add Picard, Whelan to list of recruits

Dayton Picard and Sean Whelan are the latest Bruins prospects to sign with the team. Both are '94-borns from the Moose Jaw Generals. Picard, a native of Stoughton, is a skilled centre who got into three games with the Bruins last year.
