The Southeast Legacy Twins met with some success at the annual midget AAA selects baseball tournament in Moose Jaw on the weekend. The Twins won their first three games before losing their last to one of the top teams in Saskatchewan.

Curt Minard, and his Team Canada amputee team won gold at the ISIHF World Championships. The tournament was held in Finland from May 2 to 5. "This was one of the most unbelievable experiences that I have ever had," said Minard.

Graham DeLaet tied for 41st at the HP Byron Nelson Championship, earning $22,132. The former Weyburn golfer was tied for third for making greens in regulation at the tournament.

The night began poorly for the Estevan Tarpon Energy Big Dogs and things didn't get any better from there.

Three SJHL players were picked in the United States Hockey League draft yesterday, two of them being Bruins. Goalie Tyler Ross was picked by the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the 15th round, 212th overall.

The Estevan Sherritt Coal Haulers and TS&M Tornados both failed to advance to the playoffs at the annual Legasse AAA baseball tournament in Regina on the weekend.

Several athletes from schools in southeast Saskatchewan attended the pre-district track meet at the Weyburn Comp on May 17. The top athletes from each category advanced to the district track meet, which was held at the Comp on May 23.
