Weyburn Review

The Patient Choice Medical Imaging Act was recently introduced by the Ministry of Health. This will give Saskatchewan residents the option to privately pay for a CT scan. This follows the launch of private-pay MRI services in February 2016.

The Torch Relay has now been set for the 2016 Saskatchewan Summer Games, with 37 youth selected to carry the torch. The torch will ignite the Games on July 24.

Isabelle Butters received the Meritorious Service Award from the Rebekah Assembly of Saskatchewan on June 7. The Meritorious Service Award is one of the highest honours for the Rebekah Assembly.

It was a disappointment for Dr. Robert Kitchen, MP for Souris-Moose Mountain, that the Fairness in Charitable Gifts Act failed to pass a second reading. Liberal and New Democrat MPs voted against the second reading on June 8.

Sun Country receives slight increase

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Ernest Albert Elder of Weyburn on Wednesday, June 8, 2016.

Louis Walbaum, late of Weyburn, passed away June 2, 2016, at the age of 86 years.
