The Weyburn Police Service has received numerous complaints of fraudulent calls being received in Weyburn. The fraud is perpetrated through a conversation where the caller identifies themselves as their son and they have been in a car accident.

The April 12 sale of Crown petroleum and natural gas dispositions raised a total of just over $3 million, with the vast majority of that coming from the Weyburn-Estevan area. The sale totalled $3,072,209, which is an average of $352.11 per hectare.
