Weyburn Review

Canada Day is just around the corner and those looking to celebrate the nation's birth will have ample chance to do so in Weyburn come Sunday, July 1. Breakfast is a great way to start off any day, and Canada Day is no exception.

During the week of June 18-24, the Weyburn Police Service attended to 133 calls for service. A complaint was received regarding a mischief to patio doors of an apartment building in the northwest area of the city on June 18.

Ruby passed away June 16, 2012 at age 92 in Weyburn. She was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Pearl Gray, by her husband Eldon, and sons Brian and Hugh. She's survived by her sons James (Anita) of Kananaskis, AB, and Blaine of Weyburn.

Olive Jean Cottingham late of Weyburn, passed away January 25, 2012 at the age of 101 years. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, July 6, at 10:30 a.m. from Grace United Church, Weyburn, with Reverend M. Barnabas officiating.

The Cugnet family gather to donate $1 million to Adam Knight, the chair of the Weyburn and District Hospital Foundation. The Cugnets include Tana, David, Danny, Isabelle, Tim, Kensington, Joanne, Craig, Ken, Matt, Jen, Leyna and Kingston.

Sir Vincent Gabriel the First from Beaupart Kirouac greets members of the McNaughton family, Melody, Shauna and Tarryn, as he approaches their Weyburn farm on Friday. Vincent has traveled across Canada on horseback since April, after leaving Quebec.

Crocus 80 will be competing in TheatreOne this November. A schedule for the one-act competition was released by Theatre Saskatchewan on Wednesday.

One man was fatally injured on Monday when the tractor he was driving was struck by a train. The collision occurred one kilometre north of Weyburn just off Highway 39 at about 4 p.m.
