Weyburn Review

The Clean Up Campaign for the City of Weyburn has concluded for another year. The committee for the Campaign met for their last meeting on June 12.

The Weyburn Beavers scored two wins out of three games during their weekend action against Yorkton and Melville. The Beavers are still sitting in third place in the East division of the Western Major Baseball League.

After a string of arson fires in Weyburn, including two in a row on Sunday evening, Weyburn Police Service have arrested a 20-year-old man in the matter. At approx 9 p.m.

Weyburn (cpd) - In conjunction with Southeast Regional College in Weyburn, the Ocean Man First Nation celebrated their student graduates and student achievements from the Stoughton Adult Basic Education program.

Delbert Murray Blackburn late of Regina, passed away May 18, 2012, at the age of 52 years. Delbert was born to Agnes and Richard Blackburn on April 30, 1960 in Fillmore.

In the week of June 10-17, the Weyburn Police Service responded to 130 calls for service, including mischief, accidents and a missing person. At 7:19 a.m. on June 10, police responded to a call of mischief done to a residential yard.

Betty Irene Irwin late of Weyburn, passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at the age of 78 years. Betty was born February 5, 1934 to Charles and Loretta Irwin. She was raised and resided in Weyburn all her life.

Members of the province's protective services personnel were awarded with the Saskatchewan Protective Services Medal on June 11, presented by Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield and Provincial Secretary Wayne Elhard.
