Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart and Environment Minister Ken Cheveldayoff have jointly proclaimed June 17 to 23 as Saskatchewan's 14th Annual Native Prairie Appreciation Week.

The Weybex awards were held on June 8 at McKenna Hall. Business Leader of the Year award was given to Kim Thorson. The award is sponsored by Cenovus Energy Inc. The Golden Service Award was given to Home Hardware. The award is sponsored by MNP.

Ninety-one per cent of the 2012 crop has been seeded, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture's Weekly Crop Report. The five-year (2007-2011) average for this time of year is approximately 86 per cent seeded.
