Weyburn Review

The Weyburn office of the Canadian Cancer Society will be holding its annual Survivor Tea for the Relay For Life on Saturday, May 12 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Captain's Hall.

The official launch of KidSport Month in Saskatchewan took take place recently at Sacred Heart Community School in Regina.

RBC, through RBC Foundation, announced a $50,000 donation to the Weyburn & District Hospital Foundation to mark the 100th anniversary of its Weyburn Branch. RBC's donation is in support of the capital campaign to build a new hospital in Weyburn.

The Weyburn Concert Series held its final concert of the season on May 6 with a performance by the gospel standards group, The Swing'n Soul Singers.

Saturday marked the end of the "Oklahoma" run and it was very successful. Over 100 students and staff enjoyed entertaining around 1,800 patrons over five-show run.

As the weather warms up, the Ministry of Health reminds Saskatchewan residents to take precautions to reduce the risk of coming into contact with ticks while enjoying the outdoors.

Weyburn's own Marlene Nedelcov was post-humously awarded the Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal on May 1. Marlene's daughter, Susan Nedelcov-Anderson, received the award on her mother's behalf at Government House in Regina.

The Rotary Club of Weyburn will be holding the first annual Rotary Lobsterfest on Saturday, June 16 in the Weyburn Curling Rink. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. with dinner to follow.
