The three new recruits for the Weyburn Police Service have been training arduously at the Saskatchewan Police College, and for the last month back in Weyburn where their training is ongoing under the guidance of a training officer.

A number of changes will be made to the City of Weyburn’s traffic bylaw, after it received second and third readings at the council meeting on Monday evening, including some recent changes made based on input from the public.

The Weyburn Police Service received 79 calls for service during the week of June 21 through the 27, resulting in 18 charges being laid under the Criminal Code of Canada, as well as 10 traffic-related charges.

The Weyburn Iron Pigs opened their summer season in the Qu’Appelle Baseball League with a pair of home games over the weekend at Tom Laing Park, and split the results with a loss to Regina and a win over Moose Jaw.
