Longtime health care advocates in Weyburn were extremely happy to see the announcement on Friday of the selected site for the city’s new hospital, to be built and opened by 2023, after years of waiting for the news to come.

The Weyburn Iron Pigs were in action Tuesday night at Tom Laing Park, taking on the Regina Ghosts in game 2 of the Qu’Appelle Valley Baseball League finals.

The Weyburn Police Service received 71 calls for service during the week of Aug. 31 to Sept. 6. Of those 71 calls, 61 were cleared without charges, but 10 situations resulted in a total of 17 charges being laid.
