Weyburn Comprehensive School graduate Arliss Sidloski is entering the College of Engineering this fall, and was named one of two University of Saskatchewan recipients of the Schulich Leader Scholarship of $100,000 earlier this year.

The City of Weyburn parks department is preparing for its yearly Dutch Elm Disease maintenance and control program. Dutch Elm Disease (DED) is an incurable fungal disease spread by the elm bark beetle that kills any elm tree it infects.

There are two new cases of COVID-19 to report in Saskatchewan on September 2, bringing the total to 1,624 reported cases. The new cases are located in the Northwest (1) and South Central (1) zones.

The Estevan Speedway held their two-day Dirt Wars racing event over the weekend, and a number of Weyburn area drivers placed in the various feature races. Round 1 was held on Saturday, starting with the IMCA hobby stock races.

To the Editor: The City of Weyburn has lost and continues to lose doctors. In response to the loss, our community appears to be going through the stages of grieving, such as denial and anger.
