Weyburn Review

The Fifth Weyburn Scouts had a busy startup to their new season of activities in Weyburn, with an introductory event held on Saturday at River Park. Among the activities was canoeing and kayaking.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings finished their preseason games with a home-and-home series against the Notre Dame Hounds. The Red Wings had home ice advantage first on Friday night and beat the Hounds 4-2.

The Weyburn Independent Riders hosted their annual Toy Run on Saturday afternoon, with the HOG (Harley Owners Group), Regina chapter, as guests for the ride to collect and donate toys to the Salvation Army.

A Red Wings player took his best shot at the Notre Dame Hounds goaltender from the top of the circle, during a preseason game on Friday evening at Crescent Point Place.

The Fall Brawl:Rumble in the Ring demo derby was on Saturday, September 7th at the Grandstand. The Fall Brawl marked the last demo derby of the year.

Teams of golfers took part in Southeast College’s annual Swing for Scholarships Golf Tournament on Friday at the Weyburn Golf Course.

Twin sisters Morgyn and Myla Moule got to miss their first day of school for a really good reason: they had an advance tour of the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital on Sept. 3 with their mother, Jennie.

Three members of the 5 th Weyburn Scouts, along with leader Allen Klassen, had the “experience of a lifetime” attending the 24 th annual World Scout Jamboree over the summer in West Virginia, preceded by a week in Washington, D.C.
