Weyburn Review

The Weyburn Concert Series met for their annual general meeting on Wednesday evening at the library. President, Linda Aitken welcomed those in attendance, and introduced new board members Bonnie Adacsi-Cooke and Stella Swertz.

The Weyburn Police Service, along with Weyburn Fire and EMS, responded to a motor vehicle accident at Highway 39 and Third Street South on Sept. 3.

The Weyburn Comp Eagles senior boys volleyball team placed second in their home tournament held over the weekend, with an 11-3 record in the round robin.

The World Skills competition was an incredible experience for Ryan Folk, one that he expects will serve him well in his career.

Over the weekend the Weyburn Richardson Pioneer Gold Wings played in the annual Swift Current Wildcats Preseason Tournament and were quite successful! They started the weekend with a 5-1 win over the Pilot Mound Buffalo on Friday.

Weyburn Minor Football held a Minor Football Day on Saturday, September 7, which involved four Minor Football games being played throughout the day.

Members of the Weyburn and Estevan Rotary Clubs combined their efforts on Saturday morning, at a work bee to sort out all of their golfballs to get them ready for the big Golf Ball Drop on Sept. 21.

The Fifth Weyburn Scouts had a busy startup to their new season of activities in Weyburn, with an introductory event held on Saturday at River Park. Among the activities was canoeing and kayaking.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings finished their preseason games with a home-and-home series against the Notre Dame Hounds. The Red Wings had home ice advantage first on Friday night and beat the Hounds 4-2.

The Weyburn Independent Riders hosted their annual Toy Run on Saturday afternoon, with the HOG (Harley Owners Group), Regina chapter, as guests for the ride to collect and donate toys to the Salvation Army.
