Students from Weyburn and the surrounding area will be attending the Signal Hill Arts Centre in May for clay classes, and for an additional treat, artist trading cards.

By Greg Nikkel The Holy Family Roman Catholic Separate School Division passed their 2019-20 budget at their monthly board meeting on Wednesday evening, and balanced it by borrowing funds from their accumulated surplus.

The fifth annual Duck Derby will be held on Sunday, June 16, in conjunction with the Opportunity Road Race in the morning and Trails Day in the afternoon. The duck derby is slated to begin at 1 p.m.

Weyburn students had the chance to live chat with an Olympic curler, Joanne Courtney, on April 16 as part of the Classroom Champions program, and were able to ask questions of her directly about her sport and her life.

The Bridge School program has helped students stay in school and finish their secondary education, and continues to help students today, members of the Rotary Club heard in a presentation on Thursday.

The Weyburn Labour Council will be observing a solemn occasion on Sunday, April 28, as they will mark the Day of Mourning with a ceremony at the Tommy Douglas Centre.

One of the earliest coaches of the Weyburn Red Wings, and a member of an athletically-active family in Weyburn, Jack Shupe, died on April 10 at the age of 89 in Medicine Hat, Alta.

Members of the Young Fellows Club presented a donation for $10,010 in support of the Young Fellows Red Cross Swim at School program on Thursday at the Leisure Centre.
