Officials from the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport, the Horizon School Division, Regina Catholic School Division and the Saskatchewan Arts Board officially launched LIVE Arts Education 2010-2011 earlier this week.

The Melville Millionaires AA Bantam Millionaires last three games have had three different results. Last Monday, the South Saskatchewan Minor Hockey League club hooked up with the Regina Oilers in a road tilt and managed a 3-3 tie.

Halloween is nearing and Yorkton's Boys & Girls Club want to ensure local children enjoy the day. On October 31 The Boys & Girls Club will be holding an annual Halloween Movie madness event at Sacred Heart High School.

The MCS Senior Boys Cobras volleyball squad hosted their home tournament Friday and Saturday but couldn't get to the needed level of play to win the event.

The Grain Miller's Harvest Showdown runs November 3-6 at the Gallagher Centre and Yorkton Exhibition grounds. A Trade Show and Sale runs in the Flexi-hall all four days.

An exhibition of the photo-art of local artist Margret Phillips opened last week at the community gallery in Melville, the second of a series of shows resulting from her win at PRADO, a regional artists' juried competition.

The Yorkton Regional High School (YRHS) appears to have accomplished another athletic first for the school. Over the weekend the cross country team claimed the provincial cross country team championship.
