Canora athletes earned many top-ten finishes during a successful meet at track-and-field Pre-Districts, including four quadruple-gold medal winners.

On Sunday, June 1, the annual Decoration Day event is planned for the veterans’ area of the Canora Community Cemetery.

Kasen Heshka was the winner in junior non-typical white-tailed deer.

The Concert and Dessert event was a tribute to Elvis Presley who would have celebrated his 90th birthday this year.

The presentation was geared toward students in kindergarten to Grade 4 with a focus on fire safety, fire prevention and overall emergency preparedness in the school, in the community, and at home.

Twenty Grade 3 and 4 students have become a part of the Canora Junior Elementary School Beading Club taught by Mrs. Pamela Stevens, parent volunteer.

Thirty-one Grade 1-4 students have become a part of the Canora Junior Elementary School Drumming Group this year, taught by Mr. Robert Severight, Indigenous Cultural Coach with Good Spirit School Division.

The balance sheet indicated that current assets increased approximately $350,000 during the past year with the majority of this increase due to an increase in inventory.

The total Town of Canora budget is $9 million in matching revenue and expenses. Capital expenditures are forecast to be about $3.6 million.
