Over 1000 participants attended Rama's 77th annual pilgrimage at the Shrine of Our Lady in Rama over the course of the two-day event on August 14 and 15.

The eighth annual Canora Ag Days, presented by the Canora Agricultural Society on August 17 to 19, provided a full weekend of entertainment.

The annual Canora Composite High School Pensioners Prom was hosted by the Class of 1971 on August 10 to 12 at the Canora Legion Dugout, said Ed Keyowski, class member.

On July 9, twenty-three members of Extravadance Studio in Canora, along with Kristin Weber-Karcha, Extravadance owner and artistic director, and a number of parents embarked on “the adventure of a lifetime” to Disneyland in California.

On the weekend of July 27 to 29, the Canora Reds peewee baseball team competed in the provincial peewee baseball championship tournament in Moosomin, said Jennifer Sleeva, team representative.

The Canora Ladies Golf Club held its annual tournament on August 11 with a total of 29 golfers participating in spite of the extreme heat. For the first time, a dual format was offered, said club representative Maxine Stinka.

In spite of challenging weather conditions, the Assiniboine River Archery Club held its 25 th annual 3-D shoot on August 11 and 12 at the Dale and Chad Swetlishnoff farm near Canora. Approximately 175 archers took part in the two-day competition.

Late summer and early fall is often a challenging time for Canora’s Filling the Gap Food Bank.
