Returning to classrooms on September 5, Canora students will be greeting a principal and two teachers new to the school, while at Invermay students will be welcoming two new teachers.

The Canora & District fire department was recently awarded a new thermal imaging camera (TIC), thanks to the generousity of the Prince Albert Firefighters Association, said Mike Doogan, Canora fire chief, in an interview last week.

The 76 th anniversary of the Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes was celebrated in the annual pilgrimage in Rama on August 14 and 15, said Mary Kowalyshen, an event organizer.

It was a hot scorcher of a day as disc golfers took to the Links Under the Spruce course at Good Spirit Provincial Park on July 30, said a release from the Parkland Association of Disc Golf.

Over the weekend of July 14-16, the Canora mosquito baseball team travelled to Tisdale to participate in the Mosquito Provincial Playoffs, said Jennifer Sleeva, coach.

The Saskatchewan Trappers Association hosted a two-day fun rendezvous that featured numerous events showcasing different traps, techniques and fur bearing animals found in the area.

A mural created by three local artists was mounted on the outside of the Buchanan Community Centre in June, so it would be in place for the Buchanan 110 th and the Canada 150 birthday celebrations held in July.
