After hearing numerous “horror” stories regarding the difficulties in dealing with insurance companies, a Sturgis woman now finds herself heading a new non-profit organization dedicated to lobbying for better regulation of the insurance industry.

A team called the Mighty Drunks won the annual Canora Flames recreational hockey tournament on January 23-24 at the Canora Civic Centre.

The Canora Novice Black Cobras lost the C final in overtime to Kamsack in the home tournament on January 16-17.

For the home tournament on January 15-16, the Canora players were divided into two teams: the junior team and the Grade 7s. Most of the other teams in the tournament had players from grades 7 to 9.
