Effective February 4, Parkland College announced the appointment of three new members to its board of governors: Don Bahrey of Canora, Brian Hicke of Melville, and Leonard Keshane of Keeseekoose First Nation.

The River Ridge branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation received a plaque in recognition of $40,000 being donated for the Habitat Trust program.

Last week, Cathay Wagantall, the MP for the Yorkton-Melville riding, introduced a private members bill called “Cassie and Molly’s Law” in the House of Commons.

The World Day of Prayer service, which was written by the Christian women in Cuba, will be held on March 4 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Canora.

The audience quickly got into the fun world created by the zany characters of Stop the Presses last week, a presentation of the St. Andrew’s United Church Players.

Kevin and Barb Coleridge won the Ted Palagian Memorial Two-Person Stick Bonspiel at the Canora curling rink on February 15. The team of Jacklene and Jim Trofimenkoff placed second. In total, 20 teams participated in the day-long spiel.
