With more than 30 major construction projects underway in Saskatchewan motorists are reminded to watch for workers and equipment and slow down through the work zone. Virtually every area of the province has some type of road work underway.

The 2015-16 school year is to begin for teachers on August 27 and for students regular classes will begin on September 1.

Producers now have four per cent of the 2015 crop combined and five per cent swathed or ready to straight-cut, according to Saskatchewan Agriculture’s weekly crop report for the period to August 10.

The August sale of petroleum and natural gas rights raised $3.0 million in revenue for the province, at an average price of $306 per hectare. After four sales in 2015, land sale revenues total $35.7 million.

Canora students who were born in 1950 and will be receiving old age pension this year were the stars of the Pensioner’s Prom on Saturday. This is the second year for the event. It began last year with the students who were born in 1949.
