Fire department says slow down

Just over a week after fire shut the doors of Yorkton's only dry cleaning shop, the owners are still waiting on an insurance settlement. "Everything is in limbo," said Loreen Poier, co-owner with husband Doug of York-Sask Dry Cleaners.

The City is moving its Maintenance Manager office out of City Hall to a new spot at the Gallagher Centre. At its regular meeting Monday Council authorized Administration to use $20,000 from Gallagher Centre reserves to relocate the office.

A request to close part of Seventh Avenue North, which was tabled at the Nov. 19 meeting of Yorkton Council, was discussed in length again Monday before being tabled again until Jan. 28, 2013.
