Chamber elects board

The Yorkton Chamber of Commerce has elected five new members to its board of directors. Returning are Amie Zamonsky, Don Rae and Corey Werner. New to the board are Charlene Gibler, Cheryl Kustra, Greg Donnelly, Joel Martinuk and Laurie Fedorowich.

City declares a pair of special weeks

Yorkton Council proclaimed two weeks in the city at its regular meeting Monday. Multicultural Week was declared for Nov. 18-25.

Ski trails ready

Cross country skiers, as of Sunday afternoon, Nov. 19, can ski on packed and groomed trails at Good Spirit Provincial Park.

Hit and run injury rumours untrue

Rumours that a young pedestrian was injured in a hit-and-run accident on 3rd Avenue near Broadway last week are unfounded. Const. Kerry Vicente of the municipal RCMP confirmed there was a hit-and-run, but that no pedestrians were involved.

The Cab Female Athlete of the month is a member of the Sacred Heart Cross Country team and the Sacred Heart Soccer team. At the Duck Mountain Cross Country meet she won gold and at the Cherrydale meet she also won gold.

Pieter Geldenhuys, who went missing from Esterhazy more than a month ago has made contact with the Esterhazy RCMP. Police said they could not release any more information at this time.
