Retail sales rising

Saskatchewan is again leading the nation with the largest percentage increase in retail sales figures among the provinces on a year-over-year basis according to figures released by Statistics Canada today.

New events help local tourism

Three new events will help expand the tourism opportunities in the city of Yorkton in 2012. The Yorkton Exhibition Association (YEA) is behind two of the events, hosting an already announced SSRA Snow Drags, as well as planning a new Seniors' Expo.

During the early morning hours of June 20, 50-year-old Yorkton man Jimmy Ray Wiebe was murdered in a robbery while working a late shift at the Shell gas station on Smith Street.

SaskTel donates to local groups
