City council election slate set

Nominations for the Yorkton municipal election closed last week, and two will be seeking the Mayor's chair while 10 go after six Councillor positions. For Mayor, Bob Maloney, a veteran of three terms on Council will face newcomer Richard Genaille.

Melville escapee caught in Yorkton

A man who escaped custody at Melville court on Monday has been captured by Yorkton RCMP at a residence in Yorkton. Christopher Adam Miller, 28, of Melville, escaped the provincial court room in Melville on Monday morning.
