The Preeceville Lions Western Weekend hosted a first-time car show with 32 entries on July 13.

Rawhides in Stenen hosted its fourth annual car show Sunday. The well-known restaurant had an area of its campground set up for the annual car-show and shine, with its stage set up with artists playing ‘60’s music all afternoon.

The town of Springside needs a new sewer lift station, and they have signed the contract to get construction underway. Kelsey Pipeline received the contract through Bullee Consulting for the project, which will start construction in mid-August.

The Weyburn-Fillmore RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance to solve a recent theft of an office trailer. Between midnight and 7 a.m. on July 18, a 24-foot office trailer was stolen from a rig site in the Stoughton area.

Three vehicles collided while waiting for a train to pass near Melfort over the weekend. On July 20, at 3:35 pm, Melfort Fire and Rescue responded to a report of a three vehicle collision near the intersection of Highway 3 and Highway 41A.

The court process began Tuesday morning for Shayla Orthner, charged with first-degree murder in the death of Tiki Laverdiere. Orthner is also charged with kidnapping, improperly interfering with a human body, and vehicle theft.
