Council was elected for a four-year term for the village of Rama. Mayor Darrell Dutchak and incumbent councillors Phillip Shewchuk and Evan Matsalla won by acclamation. The RM of Invermay No. 305 is holding municipal elections for reeve.

The slate of candidates for the six Councillor seats in the City of Yorkton is a long one. A total of 24 are running.

Like the municipal election, although not quite to the same extent, there is considerable interest to sit on the Good Spirit School Division board for the next four years.

The City has settled with 63 workers who are members of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE). The deal will see employees, mainly those within the public works, parks and water departments, receive an average 1.

Victoria School students and staff participated in a Terry Fox Run in Kamsack on Friday, while raising funds for cancer research. The event began with an assembly at 11 a.m.

Two male youths have been charged in relation to the death of a Yorkton resident who in the late 1980s and early 1990s had worked as the town administrator in Kamsack.
