Alan Homberg, Sturgis’s new mayor, says that his intent is to focus on the growth of the town. "My vision for the Town of Sturgis is to focus on moving forward and being progressive," said Holmberg.

The Sturgis branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation hosted its annual antler measuring event at the Sturgis Arena on December 9 when club members took in 17 sets of antlers and one bear skull to be scored.

The Preeceville Atom hockey team defeated the Yorkton Richardson Terriers in Preeceville with a final score of 6-5 on December 8. Scoring for Preeceville were Mason Babiuk (three goals), Grayson Gardner, Kimmuel Albarracin and Cole Secundiak.
