Concerned councillors and rural municipal representatives went looking for answers from the Sunrise Health Region in regards to the current doctor shortage issue and Preeceville Hospital bypass situation.

The Preeceville Legion Hall is being renovated in a project to be completed by early fall. The building was moved to its present location in 1950 from the Yorkton Air Force Base.

STARS air ambulance caused a stir when the larger helicopter unit was dispatched from Saskatoon for an inter-hospital transfer from Preeceville on August 20. The ambulance landed at the Maple Farm Equipment location.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Saskatchewan Provincial Council, welcomed the announcement made on August 21 by MD Ambulance that four ambulances from Canada are due to arrive in Kyiv, Ukraine sometimes next week.

Record participation in The Health Foundation’s annual Charity Road Race on August 16 in Yorkton resulted in $48,900 being raised to help purchase a CT scanner for the regional health centre in Yorkton.
