With between 200 and 300 customers making the Legion Dugout feel overcrowded at times, the Christmas Mini Market on Sunday was very successful, exceeding all expectations, said Candace Doogan, the organizer.

It was an evening of song, dance and a few laughs when the grades 5 and 6 students presented “Santa’s Holiday Hoedown” at the Canora Composite School on December 16.

Following a tradition of supporting community causes, on Friday the Canora Flames recreational hockey club donated $1,000 to the Canora & District Health Care Foundation.

After Sophia Hvidston, 4, had led such a wonderful “pay it forward” project to bring more toys and joy to Ronald McDonald House in Saskatoon, that a group of Canora quilters decided that they wanted to do something special for Sophia.

Sunrise Health Region has secured agreements with several doctors to provide physician coverage for Preeceville until a new resident doctor arrives in mid February.

The Preeceville branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation hosted its annual antler measuring day and meeting at the Preeceville Legion Hall December 13. Blair Mitchell, assisted by Heath Dreger, was in charge of measuring the entries.
