Gerry Adam has travelled the world in pursuit of his curling dreams. He’s voyaged across Canada multiple times and he’s been to Switzerland five times. In February, he’ll pack up his suitcase again as he makes one of the biggest journeys of his life.

Duck Mountain Super League (DMSL) curlers competed in Benito December 19, took a break for the holidays, and completed their regular season January 2 in Norquay.

Sport being played again in small community

A trip north to face Flin Flon on the weekend proved a long one for the Yorkton Terriers as they gave up 11 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League goals in losing a pair of games to the Bombers.

Yorkton was the host of the Triple A Directional Drilling Bantam A tournament, with games split between the Kinsmen Arena and the Farrell Agencies Arena.

It was a pair of overtime losses but the Yorkton AAA Midget Maulers did add two points as they try to climb the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey League standings.

Strong play and close games defined the Yorkton Lady Raiders senior girls basketball tournament. Coach Jessica Kyle said that the tournament was a good one, and the final game ended with the O’Neill Regina team besting the team from North Battleford.

Evans signs letter of intent to play next fall

With the flipping of the calendar Monday we have headed into a new year which in the world of sports could be one of the best in years – at least from my perspective.
