Members of the Lintlaw Fire Department expanded their knowledge in firefighting December 1, 2 and 3 when they attended a three-day training session on search, rescue, forcible entry and rapid response.

Sacred Heart High School’s annual awards banquet for the school’s fall sports recognized the students who went above and beyond in their athletic achievement. Congratulations to all of the winners for their hard work and success over the season.

After a weekend split the Rawtec Maulers sit tied for sixth in the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey League with the Saskatoon Contacts with 24 points based on a record of 11-12-1-1. The Notre Dame Hounds lead the loop with 41 points.

The Yorkton branch of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation held its annual horn measuring night last week. The night saw a number of horns from elk, moose and whitetail deer measured for the group’s annual awards.

The Yorkton Terriers showed some hometown pride Saturday with a big win over Estevan. The Bruins had buried the Terriers a night earlier in Estevan outscoring the visitors 9-0.

An exciting Canora Atom White hockey tournament was held on November 25 and 26. It featured teams from Kamsack, Preeceville, Langenburg, Esterhazy, Swan Valley and the hosts team, Canora Atom White, said Kent Hembling, coach.

The Preeceville bantam Pats hockey team tied the Melville Stars in a home game on November 25 with a 4-4 final score. Scoring for Preeceville were Shae Peterson, Jacob Danyluk, TJ Ebert and Seth Hort.
