On Tuesday morning, the Yorkton Terriers Junior A Hockey Club announced the “termination of contract with Casey O’Brien as general manager and head coach of the team effective October 31, 2017.

The Yorkton Raiders are champions at last. On Satuday afternoon, the Yorkton Regional High School boys football team became the 2017 champions of the Moose Jaw High School Football League after defeating the Swift Current Colts 59-2.

The Sacred Heart Saints boys’ soccer team are regional 2A champions for the fourth year in a row. The Saints hosted the regional championships last weekend in Yorkton.

The Yorkdale Central School hosted a 17-team tournament last weekend. Teams from all over gathered in Yorkton to play in a boys division and a girls division.

The Sacred Heart High School Lady Saints volleyball team traveled to Melfort last weekend to take part in an eight team tournament. Sacred Heart first played Quill Lake winning 25-10 and 25-20.

The Yorkton Bantam Raiders football team picked up a big win in their quarter-final playoff game on Saturday, defeating the Regina Lakers 55-8.

Saturday night saw the nothing but green at the Yorkton Ag Pavilion as the Saskatchewan Roughriders Block Party drew in a huge crowd. There was food, drinks, games, inflatables and so much more for people to enjoy.

Six of the 15 Kamsack Comprehensive Institute students who participated in the district cross-country competition at Cherrydale on October 5 placed in the top 10 of their categories and one of them won a gold medal.

Eleven Sturgis Composite School cross-country athletes did well with placing in the top 10 of their age categories at the Cherrydale district cross-country meet held in Yorkton on October 6.

Canora Composite School (CCS) athletes competed at the Cherrydale cross-country district meet near Yorkton on October 5. In the beginner boys two-kilometre race, involving 37 runners, Rhett Ludba finished second in a personal best time of 8:59.
