Two rinks tie for top spot at the Norquay Seniors Bonspiel held February 20 to 23. Rinks attended from Sturgis, Canora, Swan River, Bowsman, Preeceville, Kamsack and Yorkton.

The Cote Atom Chiefs hockey team defeated the Canora Atom Red Cobras in overtime play during a playoff league game in Canora on February 17.

The Mark Maga rink of Whitebeech topped the 10 th annual Benito Open Mixed Bonspiel held February 13 to 19. Curling with Mark Maga (skip) were Glen Maga (third), Robert Vessey (second) and Andrea Maga (lead).

The IP Kamsack Flyers took to the ice in Canora on February 18 to play against the IP Canora Cobras at the Canora Civic Centre.

On February 17 at an assembly, the Canora Composite School’s cross-country team and their coaches received their Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association bronze medals and banner which names the team the provincial bronze medal winner.

A team of Terry Dennis and Glenn Dutchak was presented with the winner’s plaque at the conclusion of the Ted Palagian Memorial Two-Person Stick Bonspiel played in Canora on February 20. The pair received the plaque from Ted’s widow Del.

The Preeceville peewee hockey team, which had its provincial dreams dashed with a double loss to Kipling on February 19 in Kipling and then again in Preeceville on February 21, are now focused on league playoffs.
