Two rinks tie for top spot at the Norquay Seniors Bonspiel held February 20 to 23. Rinks attended from Sturgis, Canora, Swan River, Bowsman, Preeceville, Kamsack and Yorkton.

There were sixteen teams participating in the regional cribbage category of the Parkland Valley district in the Saskatchewan Senior Fitness 55 Plus games. The cribbage games were hosted by the Sturgis READ Club on February 25.

Yorkton United Football Club’s under 12 girls Tornadoes captured gold in the annual Golden Boy soccer tournament in Winnipeg from Feb. 17–20, 2017. The girls’ roster was bolstered with two guest players from Weyburn, Nyla Prochinsky and Taya Schmidt.

The Yorkton Gun Club’s 38th annual Gun & Collectable Show took place last weekend from Feb. 25-26 at the Yorkton Agripavilion.

The Yorkton United Football Club’s U11 Storm boys started the Winnipeg Golden Boy tournament strong with a 4-1 win on Friday night against the Bonvital Flames. Yorkton started slowly and the game was tied 1-1 at half time.

The Outlook Blues senior boys basketball team hosted the LCBI Bisons in some cross-town court action on Thursday evening, February 11. A healthy turnout of supporters packed the stands on the stage as they watched both local teams vie for a win.
