The wrestling team representing Yorkton Regional High School has had a very successful season so far. The team consists of six athletes who practice at Yorkton Martial Arts three times a week.

The Outlook Ice Hawks are looking to keep up their momentum and hopefully come away from the 2016/17 hockey season with some hardware after taking Round One of the SVHL playoffs with a clean sweep over the Kenaston Blizzard.

The Bob Lebo rink of Preeceville won the first event of the Stenen Annual Open Bonspiel which was held from January 29 to February 5 with 17 teams participating.

Kamsack Novice Flyers placed third at their four-team hockey tournament played February 10–12 at the Broda Sportsplex in Kamsack.

The Kamsack Atom Flyers “learned about the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat” during their five-team tournament on February 4 and 5. The Flyers were excited to have won all three games they played on Saturday, said Mike Eliuk, coach.

The Sturgis Composite High School senior boys curling team brought home a silver medal from the district competition held in Yorkton on February 4 and 5. The team has qualified to advance to Regionals in Estevan on March 3 and 4.

The Kelvington 4-H Beef Club held its regular meeting at the Kelvington High School on February 5, said Blake Zagrodney, club reporter. With lots to discuss it was quite a long meeting, Zagrodney said.
