Father’s Day proved a good day for the Yorkton Cardinals as they earned a home field win over Regina in Western Major Baseball League action.

It’s time to pack your golf discs if you are headed to Whitesand Regional Park. The park just northwest of Theodore, has a new amenity, and it is an 18 target disc golf course.

From the late 1940s to the mid-1950s, the Kamsack Cyclones baseball team was a force to be reckoned with and recently a Roblin resident submitted a photograph of the team and the stub to a lottery ticket that was sold during games.

The grades 5, 6 and 7 classes of Canora Composite School enjoyed a field trip to Jubilee Park in Yorkton on June 2 when they attended a Western Major Baseball League game between the Yorkton Cardinals and the Swift Current Indians.

The newly developed golf driving range is a great recreation resource that has added to the amenities that the Town of Preeceville has to offer tourists and locals alike. The range is located adjacent to Annie Laurie Lake on the north end of town.

The Preeceville School track-and-field team had 21 athletes who had earned the privilege to advance from pre-districts to the District meet that was hosted in Yorkton last month.

The Yorkton United Storm Under 10 Boys team travelled to Saskatoon to take part in the Harder Avalon Classic Soccer tournament June 3-to-5. The Storm’s first game was against a team from Swift Current Friday night.

The Yorkton United U18/16 Girls soccer participated in the Regina QCT Challenge Cup June 10-12. The first game of the round robin was against Swift Current Untied U16 with Yorkton winning 4-1.

The Yorkton Orioles presented the Yorkton Cardinals and Melville Millionaires of the Western Major Baseball League with cheques for $500 at Saturday’s game in Yorkton between the two teams.
