Member of Kamsack Cyclones baseball team to be inducted into Sask. Baseball Hall
The late Albert Cottenie of Kamsack will be inducted, posthumously, into the Saskatchewan Baseball Hall of Fame in the individual category as a player and builder, during a reception at Battleford on August 15.

Kamsack Royals win one, lose two games at Canada Day slo-pitch tournament
Five slo-pitch teams joined the Kamsack Royals to compete in the Canada Day tournament. Teams were from Swan River, Dauphin, Preeceville, Melville and Canora, said Eugene Krawetz, an organizer.

Preeceville School gym receives new floor and will host provincials
The Preeceville School gymnasium has undergone some changes the last few years with the most recent change being a new hardwood fl oor. The project started June 22 with completion slated for sometimes during the summer prior to the new school season.

Hudson Bay team tops Sandy Beach slo-pitch tournament
The Sandy Beach slopitch tournament and family picnic was held on June 20 at Sandy Beach located eight miles northwest of Norquay with 10 teams participating. All the teams were local with the exception of teams from Hudson Bay and Canora.

Struggling Cards still in playoff hunt
The Yorkton Cardinals are in a log jam in the Saskatchewan Division of the Western Major Baseball League. The Cardinals have a 9-14 record to sit in fourth spot, one game up on Swift Current and 2.5 games behind third place Moose Jaw.
