After a home-and-home split with the Melville Millionaires at New Year's the Yorkton Terriers played host to Humboldt Friday. The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League division leading teams played it tight throughout.

Yorkton Harvest winger Lynden Pastachak has been lighting up goaltenders left and right in the Saskatchewan AAA Midget Hockey League this year, posting 15 goals and 31 points throughout 27 games.

The Sacred Heart Lady Saints basketball team kicked off the New Year with a bang by going 2-1 in Moosomin on January 4 and 5. The Saints dominated Esterhazy in their opening match on Friday, taking it 77-34.
