The Yorkton Harvest were gunning for their second straight win of the season. It didn't happen. It looked like it might for 40 minutes and then the penalty parade started and the Harvest chances for another win went out the door with it.

The YRHS senior boys volleyball team competed in the 5A Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) senior boys' provincial championships of volleyball over the weekend. It was held at Carlton Comprehensive High School in Prince Albert.

The U10 Kinsmen Storm attended their first tournament of the season in Regina on Nov. 4-6, 2011. The Storm went up against the UCT Turbo in the gold medal game. The Turbo had beat the Storm 6-1 earlier in the tournament.

Paul Toth received a text message recently that he's bee nominated for an award at this year's football banquet. The text message came from his offensive co-ordinator, Jason Boyda.

Darrell Spelay is the all-time leading scorer in Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League. Spelayis the all time scoring leader with 451 career points, in 246 games. Spelay's 243 goals are also a career league high.

The Yorkton U-12 Bulldogs won gold at the QC Breakaway tournament in Regina over the weekend, capping the eventful weekend with a decisive 5-1 win over REU Rebels.

The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League will induct the first media member to its Hall of Fame Friday, when former GX94 broadcaster Terry Struthers will be among four to be installed at a ceremony during the Yorkton Terrier home game at the Farrell Age

The Sacred Heart Saints senior boys' volleyball team found themselves in slightly unusual circumstances last Wednesday night. They hosted a one-day tournament in their home gym on a Wednesday.
