Yorkton residents can get more than a glance of the Stanley Cup on August 16. After being flown in, Jarret Stoll of the Los Angeles Kings will take the cup to Neudorf to spend some time with his family.

The Yorkton United U16 girls' soccer team is preparing for the upcoming provincial championships July 20-22 in Regina. The team has attended three tournaments so far as tune ups and has brought home two gold medals and one bronze medal.

The Yorkton Cardinals and Swan River Reds met Thursday night in Yorkton to get the South East Senior Baseball League playoffs going. It did not start out well for the Cardinals.

Following weeks of scheduled games getting played out, the rain started to fall the day before, and the day, of the start of the South East Baseball League (SESBL) games, forcing at least one rainout.

The Yorkton Bulldogs played in the PGLL playoff tournament over the weekend and made it to the 'B' side final. Yorkton lost their first game, 10-7 against the Regina Rifles, beat the Saskatoon Steelers, 11-5 before falling in the 'B' final.

Updates have come in as to the agenda for the Stanley Cup parade for Jarret Stoll of the Los Angeles Kings. On Aug. 16 he and his family will be bringing the Stanley Cup to Yorkton for a parade.
