The Government of Saskatchewan wishes all the athletes and the City of Meadow Lake well at the 2012 Saskatchewan Summer Games. The Games run from July 29-Aug. 4. This year marks the 40th Anniversary of the Games.

Girls team wins provincials
The Yorkton United U16 girls' soccer team are provincial champions. They won the prestigious title July 20-22 in Regina. Going into this provincial championships, the team was on a 32-unbeaten streak.

Frank wins men's amateur title
The Saskatchewan Men's Amateur Golf Championships were held last week at Deer Park. There were several locals vying for a spot on the national team. Monday and Tuesday morning saw golfers face some of the worst weather for the tournament.

Pee Wee baseball hits home
The Yorkton Cardinals hosted the Pee Wee "A" Provincial Championship in baseball from July 20 to 22. Six different teams came from across the province for the tournament. The Cardinals lost 4-9 in their first game against the Kindersley Royals.
