The districts of high school badminton were played out last Monday afternoon as at least five schools took part in Saskatchewan High Schools Athletics Association (SHSAA) badminton held at the Melville Comprehensive School.

The sport of football has long been running throughout the high schools in various parts of Saskatchewan and of course in Yorkton.

He was pretty quiet all night long but with 7.6 seconds left in regulation time, he made more noise then most kids do during regular class time.

Jessica Sanftleben's third place finish in the 50m freestyle event, led the way for the Yorkton Speed Swimming Club at a recent Saskatoon swim meet. Her time of 31.73 seconds gave her the bronze and brought her within 0.

The Good Spirit School Division (GSSD) continued its tradition of providing its students with alternate solutions for keeping fit and getting/staying in shape.

The Sacred Heart High School (SHHS) badminton team participated in the Saskatchewan High School Athletics Association (SHSAA) District badminton tournament which was held at the Melville Comprehensive School last Monday.

The doors were wide open for this one. In most sporting events, it's said that the best offence is a strong defence.

The month of March is gone, but Yorkton celebrated its own version of the March Madness less then a week ago. Each and every March, the United States college basketball teams compete throughout the month for the right to be named basketball's best.

The Yorkton Terriers held the team's awards' banquet Saturday. Team president Lyle Walsh said it was a year ago the team was holding the same event and "talked about the great season we had, and looking forward to next year.

This past Wednesday night marked the annual celebration of excellence at the various levels of minor hockey. Award winners are as follows: Initiation Program.
