Not much makes watching Hockey Night in Canada-or TSN's SportsCentre more worth it than getting a chance to see John Tortorella in action.

Indoor gym practices have started for the Yorkton girls softball team. There are two more scheduled practices at the Gloria Hayden Centre. Practices will go from 3-5 p.m.

Skate Yorkton presented their annual ice carnival over the weekend, bringing an end to the local skating club's season. A big part of the carnival was skating pairs Anabelle Langois and Cody Hay, who also put on a seminar the day before the carnival.

The Yorkton men's bonspiel was held recently at the local club. Winners came out of 4 categories. The 'C' event winners, from left: Lloyd Inglis, skip, Len Malinowski, 3rd, Kelly Hallidy, 2nd, Glenn Seitz, lead. In "B" side went to the Folk rink.

They cleaned up. again. For the second time this season the Clean the Clean Spot Terriers novice boys' hockey team won a finals meeting.

The Mark's Work Wearhouse Yorkton Terrier Pee Wee hockey team is scheduled to play in a finals series early this week. Results from the final game were not available at press time.

A local horse just came off a good racing season in which he won the 2011 Saskatchewan Racing Association (SRA) Horse of the Year Award. On top of that, he also set a track race record in Regina.

The Yorkton Pee Wee Work Wearhouse Terriers are among the local hockey teams who are fighting it out to add to their credentials.
