Practices have started at the Gloria Hayden Centre for the Yorkton girls' softball team. The team is still looking for players. Practice takes place on Sunday afternoon from 3-5 p.m., on April 22.

The Yorkton Harvest Hockey Club is putting together a bid to host the Western Regional Hockey Championships in 2014. The tournament involves Midget AAA hockey teams from Saskatchewan, Manitoba and northern Ontario.
